Holiday Card 2009by ~saffronscarf

My holiday card for 2009. I've never sent out holiday cards before, and I had no idea what I was in for when I started, but I'm so glad that I did in the end because I'm extremely happy with this.

Of course everything will always take longer than I think it will; I assumed I'd spend three days drawing/inking/coloring, but of course it took roughly two weeks. Then came the addressing, writing and sending... to about 50 people. As of writing this, I still have about three people left on my list. I can pretend it's still the holidays, right?

All in all, I'm really glad I did it. I'm starting my 2010 card this week so I'll be on top of things next year!!

The top image was on the outside and the bottom was on the inside with a holiday greeting.

Parsley (the rabbit) and the Turtle are mine.

Oh my gosh, I'm an absolute sucker for cozy, tiny homes and this hit me hard. *____* So adorable, so sweet, and it's really the little details that make it-- like the photos and the carrot lamp and the tiny houseplant with a miniature scarf, but what really got me was the rabbit knitting a scarf for the turtle.
