Yeah, you're all off playing your Diamond and Pearl games, but I remember when Silver and Gold came out and how I got Silver for my 13th birthday and wow what a big deal that was. Out of all the Pokemon teams I've had to make because my sister somehow managed to keep restarting my games, this was the only one that evaded any deletion for six whole years.

Until now.

Because Silver/Gold games had some sort of battery defect in which they would lose game memory after six years, my best team of Pokemon is lost to me forever. And I can't even blame it on her!

I had a lot of good memories with that team and the entertainment they brought me during the pains of late 2000-early 2001. Particularly finding Silver (and my trusty lime green Gameboy Color) again in 2003 when we moved, and I had the flu for that whole week after. Probably the best distraction I had from pain and boredom and whining about pain and boredom.

Maybe I got a little too attached to them, but I swear they even started developing personalties. Erik was my starter, and for reasons I can't recall I never wanted to evolve him. I liked him as a Chikorita. (He was originally named after my favorite Kanto Gym Leader Erika, but even I couldn't overlook the gender icons for very long.) He was the cute n' ditzy "leader" of the team, but could kick ass with Razor Leaf.
Hoosey is the Noctowl and she was I think the first Pokemon I ever caught. She was my highest leveler and was probably severly studious and serious all the time. She rocked the Hypnosis/Dream Eater combo.
Electro the Ampharos was the not-too-bright-but-heart-of-gold Thunderpunching sweetheart. I hate that there are no Mareeps in Crystal.
I never paid much attention to Rocka but she was pretty solid and specialized in Dig and Magnitude. Also she and Electro were bros.
And Eletrofish went in and out of my team, depending if I needed a Surfer. I usually used that last slot (or two) for trainees.

I've been playing Crystal lately (replaying, because that game also got restarted 9_9 ) building a new team from scratch, but no team can ever take these guyses plalce. Team Silver, this one's for you.

Aw man I think I lost my Mew in that game.

I think my G/S/C versions must be magic. It's almost been 10 years, and all 3 are still kicking!

Of course, I know one day they'll kick the bucket, but that's all right, since I moved all my best Pokemon to Crystal, then to Pokemon Stadium 2 where they're be nice and cozy forever.

Regardless, sorry for your loss.

Ahh, yes, Pokemon Crystal

probably my favorite game out of all the games! ^_^
I wuv my teams a whole bunch! It mustve been horrible to find out that yours was erased

I looove my Gold version! <3 Even though I do play the Diamond game I still think the older games are better.

There /is/ a way you can fix the save problem, though it won't get back your deleted game:

Haha, I'm soo tempted to play the new gen games, but I'm afraid that going back to the old ones will be hard because I'll be spoiled by the new gen graphics and sounds. :<

I've heard of that method. If I trusted my ability to fix electronics, I would definitely take a shot at it. Do you know if it's possible to replace the battery before the game gets erased, and not erase the current game? My Silver may be fritzed but my Crystal game is still functioning and I'd like to keep it from dying as well.

Seriously, though, I love Electro. And Erik's leaf is fantastic. And Eletrofish... ah hell, I love 'em all. But there's just something about Electro...

Ah, the Pokemon we have loved and lost. I dare not touch any of my old games... I already know what I'll find at this point. All those Porygons...

... Ouch. I know exactly how that feels, aside from the fact that my beloved Gold Version was stolen about a year ago. I had my entire crew from Blue Version jammed in there, and I was conducting some important breeding experiments...

... I could go on and on, but this about your team and your art, Lah-san. What happy memories are evoked from this piece... Memories I wish I could relive for the sake of having my team and my pokemon family back... At least I am comforted that the critters in my stolen game will not suffer under the hands of the selfish little blackgaard that stoles them from me. *gollumhiss*

Erik, Hoosey, Rocka, Electro, Electrafish... I would have been an honor to meet you in battle. It is a shame that the one time our pokemon will have met is in the great big pokemon box in the sky, and out of our sight... *sniffle*

Good luck with Crystal, Lah-san. I've also moved on and bought me a new Gold Version (visa GameCrazy) to complement the Silver and Crystal Versions that another friend gave me. While the new teams will not replace our beloved pokemon and the memories that they gave us, may the new adventures and memories be just as sweet.

I rock the Crystal hard core ^^ One of these days when we hang out in the park we should battle. I have a game link cable, and if you have a color Game Boy, we can battle old-school with our Gold/Silver pokemon
